Could a true survival horror game fit into the confines of

Released in 2012 for the 3DS, Resident Evil Revelations serves as a bit of a middle ground of the focus on survival horror with the more action approach after 4. It makes a few tweaks to the formula (like the addition of scanning). Some work better than others.

Resident Evil Revelations takes a TV drama structure approach to tell its story, for better for worse. It’ll keep you guessing until the end, but it can be a bit much with the constant twists.
